Step Inside Georgia's Edwardian Bathroom with the Berrittini Collection

Set within a charming market town in South Yorkshire, Georgia’s Edwardian home is full of period features and thoughtful details. Her latest project, a bathroom renovation, features the classic Berrittini Manoir Porcelain tiles paired with the matching Berrittini Carrara metro wall tiles, creating a bathroom that celebrates classic design and timeless character.

What is the history of your property?

We know the house was built in the Edwardian era, later owned by the gas board. The house is close to an old station house which Queen Victoria’s train used to routinely stop at for an engine change during trips to and from Balmoral.

Is this your first renovation project?

This is our first time taking on a renovation project, but my parents have always been passionate renovators, and their love for restoring old buildings has truly inspired us. Over the years they have brought new life to an old farmhouse in the next village, as well as a château in France, and now they call the Yorkshire Dales home. Without their encouragement and example, we might never have had the confidence to take on this project ourselves.

What styles did you want to see in your renovation?

When we began planning our renovation, we knew it was important to stay true to the home’s original Edwardian character. From choosing a classic cistern for the toilet to the elegant curves of swan neck coving, every detail has been carefully considered to honour the craftsmanship of the era. Our goal is to create a space that feels both grand and authentic, while introducing subtle updates that bring comfort and practicality for modern living. It’s all about finding that balance between timeless charm and a refreshed, welcoming feel.

Why in particular did you choose the Berrittini collection?

We wanted the design to feel timeless, with the black and white palette keeping things neutral yet still striking. Extending the tiles into the shower created a seamless look, while steering away from the glossy metro style tiles ensured the space stayed true to the style we had in mind.

Why did you choose Quorn Stone for your tiles?

We spent a lot of time shopping around, but we kept coming back to the Quorn Stone website - the tiles were exactly what we had been looking for, and at a fair price too. In fact, we were so sure about them that we chose them without even ordering a sample. We just knew they were the ones.

What is your favourite interior piece and why?

For us, it has to be the double sink. It’s far from a novelty in our house - we genuinely use it every day, often ending the evening side by side brushing our teeth. Some of our best conversations and plans have happened right there at that sink! On top of that, the extra storage is perfect for keeping cleaning products, towels, and all the essentials neatly tucked away, making it as practical as it is enjoyable.

What is your must have gadget in your renovated area?

It might not quite qualify as a gadget, but one of our favourite features has to be the multiple shower heads in the bath and shower. The free-flowing shower feels luxurious, yet the smaller head is so practical for those times when you don’t want to wash your hair. Simple, thoughtful details like this make such a difference in everyday life.

What was the best bargain find during your project?

For me, it has to be the mirror. I was gifted it years ago from a shop that was about to throw it away, and they were more than happy for me to give it a new home. It’s travelled with us from our last house, and with a fresh coat of leftover panelling paint, it’s been spruced up beautifully. Now it feels as though it was made for this space. I call free the ultimate bargain!

What three words would you use to summarise your style?

Timeless, Refined, Elegant
