There really is no elixir like the English seaside in Summer! Something about the fresh sea air and sound of waves lapping over a shore that brings a calm and joy like no other. Situated along the Suffolk coastline with just a 10-minute journey to neighbouring beaches, is home to Pauline and her beautifully remodelled coastal garden. Bought at the start of 2020, much of the interior was already to Pauline’s taste, but the garden was in need of some attention and care. The property itself is a lovely coastal lodge, featuring wooden cladding synonymous to the area with just under an acre of land. She describes the location as idyllic, being set in the outskirts of an old market town, with nearby rolling fields and country lanes leading to stretches of coastlines.
Pauline saw the potential of the garden space, despite it being very overgrown with little landscaping and the existing swimming pool surrounded by old, stained slabs. Now, the extended patio space with our Tuscany seasoned limestone paving creates a seamless flow from house to pool – a most inviting picture on a hot, Summers day!
The garden limestone paving also wraps round to the side of the property with a wonderful alfresco dining spot perfect for hosting family and friends that come to stay! This slice of haven captures the essence of a lifestyle by the sea, Pauline tells us living here often ‘feels just like staying in a holiday cottage only it’s mine to enjoy’.
When choosing an outdoor paver for the pool space and patio extending across the property, the main requirements was for a tile that would offer enough grip, be hardwearing and complement the natural coastal setting. After visiting our Suffolk tile showroom, the Tuscany seasoned limestone paving was a perfect choice with our exclusive ‘seasoned’ finish providing plenty of texture and grip as exterior tiles and the soft, honey tones throughout to emulate a true rustic, seaside feel. This limestone is in a 600 x FL (Free Length) format and is 20mm thick, making it frost resistant and suitable for outside. A beautiful feature of Tuscany is its unique white veining and patterning against the beige tones of the tile that will gracefully age and season with time.
