Best Leicestershire Limestone Floor Projects

Here at our Quorn showroom, we are grateful to have served many happy customers over the years who visit from far and wide. In the beginning, it was our extensive range of limestone tiles that attracted our customers to our showroom, with most visitor’s local from the Leicestershire villages and surrounding areas. Over time we are delighted to have had many of our customers welcome us into their beautiful homes, to photograph their stunning limestone tiles and completed projects. There have been many extraordinary renovations and newbuilds that we have been lucky enough to visit, and so, we wanted to show you some of our favourite Leicestershire limestone floor projects from over the years.

1. Dijon Tumbled Limestone

One of our favourite customer projects within the Leicestershire area is of our Dijon Tumbled Limestone tiles. This project in particular, showcases the neutral tones within each limestone tile and the soft beige to light grey hues that the Dijon is known for. This natural stone compliments an array of colour schemes and lends itself beautifully to both traditional and contemporary homes alike – the perfect addition to this orangery extension in the rural village of Rothley! Here, the Dijon limestone tiles have also been laid in our external pavers to create an infinity effect, and a wonderful inside outside space. The natural mineral and fossil detailing are evident in this natural stone adding to the characteristics and forgiving nature of the Dijon Tumbled Limestone.

2. Farrow Grey Tumbled Limestone

Farrow Grey is a popular range in our selection of limestone tiles, with this project in Loughborough, Leicestershire, a firm favourite online. The grey neutral tones of dove grey through to soft anthracite, lend perfectly to this industrial style barn conversion. The oxidisation of iron within these limestone tiles offer occasional warm copper hues and a timeless charm. The tumbled finish provides texture and a subtle pastel-like appearance, with its worn edges creating a rustic feel. Natural fossils, calcite veining and minerals are apparent within this natural stone allowing for a forgiving surface - a top choice for busy family homes and exterior applications.

3. Kensington Tumbled Limestone

Kensington tumbled limestone is one of the most versatile limestone tiles that we offer in our collection, with its neutral grey tones and off-white hues. This customer project in Wymeswold, Leicestershire, displays the elegance of this limestone tile and the beauty of the free length format that it is offered in. The Kensington’s surface displays subtle sweeping movements and gentle mottling, with the occasional copper fleck providing warmth and character to each limestone tile. This natural stone provides a light and airy feel, that helps to brighten any dull spaces.

4. Bordeaux Aged Chateau French Limestone

Our Bordeaux Aged Chateau is a luxurious French limestone tile with warm mushroom tones and rich variation. The Aged-Chateau finish of these limestone tiles provide a hand-crafted pillow edge and a hand-worn surface leaving texture and intricate details to each tile. Bordeaux Aged Chateau has the appearance of a limestone floor that have been laid for hundreds of years, as shown in this stunning barn conversion project in the countryside of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. This rustic natural stone is perfectly suited to period properties, adding character and a timeless charm.

5. Umbrian Antiqued Limestone

One of our favourite farm projects in the Leicestershire area was of our Umbrian Antiqued limestone tiles, laid within this charming farmhouse situated in Woodhouse Eaves. This natural stone full of character and charm, offers hand dressed edges and a slight sheen to the surface, thanks to its Antiqued finish. This unique limestone tile presents earthy, olive to grey tones, that are complimented by the deep mottling textures running through the surface of each tile. This natural stone is durable and forgiving in nature, easily withstanding the comings and goings of busy modern-day life, which also makes this limestone tile ideal for external application.

Porcelain that looks like limestone flooring

Provence Grigio stone effect porcelain

As much as we love the beauty and uniqueness of our limestone tiles, our stone effect porcelain, is a great alternative that requires less maintenance whilst still presenting the appearance of natural stone. One of our favourite stone effect porcelain tiles is our Provence Grigio, which features a soft tumbled edge and natural tonal variations, mimicking the appearance of our natural stone tiles. Its forgiving markings and anthracite tones, makes this tile a great choice for external pavers, which have been used in this customer project in Hathern, north Leicestershire. Our porcelain stone effect tiles are highly realistic, making sure we chose the best prints possible that replicate our limestone tiles. View more of our stone effect porcelain range here

Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

After receiving so many compliments over the years of our Leicestershire showroom, we decided to open a new branch in Great Gaddesden, Hertfordshire in the spring of 2018. After welcoming many visitors since our opening, we soon realised we were already outgrowing the space in the charming grounds of the Gaddesden Estate. We since decided to expand and renovate the showroom, adding many new inspiring displays. The renovation and expansion are still ongoing, whilst we are temporarily closed - we hope to reopen and show you our beautiful new space in early 2021.
