Charming Farmhouse with our Umbrian limestone
Ever so often we have the opportunity to photograph a particularly beautiful customer project. Last Wednesday in the glorious sunshine, our photographer had the privilege of visiting our customers who recently had 300m2 of our Umbrian limestone tiles in their charming newly built farmhouse. Nestled in the quaint and picturesque village of Shearsby, Leicestershire, our customers have an organic home farm with 30 hectares of grassland, a small orchard and this charming farmhouse.
With the kitchen fitted, staircase in and tiles down it was a joy to photograph the space and see it starting to take shape. This farmhouse is part of the heart of the surrounding community, with a room in the house holding regular classes for primary schools and the farm providing local organic produce.
The Umbrian brushed with a hand dressed edge was the perfect option for this project! Our Umbrian limestone features warm olive through to sandy tones with a lovely textured surface and hand finished edge on each tile. The beauty and characteristics of this stone gives the aged appearance to the floor – as though it has been there for 100’s of years.
Our customers have opted for a timeless country elegance with oak beams, a log burner, a trusty AGA and our Umbrian limestone. The farmhouse has an open floor plan with a bright and airy entrance, through to the main space which will be a living and dining area, flowing then into the kitchen. The large flagstone format of this stone lends itself to large open homes with this farmhouse really showing the true beauty of the limestone.
